Benefits Of Dry Brushing

Dry brushing is a skin exfoliation technique that will help you achieve smooth, glowing skin!

Here are the reasons you need to get it into your daily beauty routine.

First, What Is a Dry Brush?

A dry brush is a specific type of brush that’s used for exfoliation and enhanced circulation.  Some brushes have bristles made of synthetic materials while others use boar hair or plant-based bristles.

3 MAIN BENEFITS OF DRY BRUSHING

  1. Remove dead skin cells and unclog pores – leaving skin feeling softer and smoother.

  2. Boost circulation and stimulate your lymphatic system.

  3.  Moisturizers work better because you will have brushed away the outermost dead skin cells.

CAN YOU BODY BRUSH IN THE SHOWER?

You won’t get the full benefits of dry brushing if you do it in the shower. The hot water can dry out your skin and exfoliation won’t be as effective. Yes, it might be chilly for five minutes in your undies, but trust us, it’s worth it!

HOW TO DRY BODY BRUSH

You’ll need a brush with firm, natural bristles like our Natural Boar Body Brush to slough away those dead skin cells.

  1. Get naked or in your undies.

  2. Start with the bottom of your feet and legs, brushing upwards towards your heart in short, firm strokes not pressing too hard as the bristles might scratch your skin.

  3. Be sure to use a circular motion on your tummy and armpits, instead of short, firm strokes. Let the brush do the work.

  4. When you get to your arms, begin at your hands and work the brush upwards.

*Do Not Dry Brush on Sunburn or Irritated Skin*

Post Brushing Care

After dry brushing, hop in the shower to wash away dead skin cells with one of our All Natural Body Bars.

Post wash - moisturize your skin to hydrate, sooth and replenish moisture. Try using one of our Natural Body Oil Sprays, Body Butters, our Dandelion Lotion or Grass Fed Tallows for deep moisture.

BRUSH MAINTENANCE

After dry brushing, be sure to give your brush a quick rinse. Make sure you deep clean your brush with soap and water once a week and leave it to dry. Clean brush = happy skin!
